What are Third-Party Integrations?
Integration is one of the efficient ways of setting up a seamless connectivity between Bigin and other applications. The applications include external third-party applications and other internal applications of Zoho. As every application provides a unique set of solutions, the integration allows your Bigin account to extend its capabilities rather than developing each solution from scratch.
To know about the benefits gained through the integration of Bigin with other applications, see the following:
- Expands the functionality of the Bigin
- Ensures right data at the right time
- Maintains the updated information in the Bigin account
- Eliminates the need of switching back and forth between applications
- Improves employee productivity and customer experience
To accommodate this diversity within the business world, the Bigin Developer Console allows you to integrate almost any third-party application with your Bigin account.
Using the Bigin Developer Console, you can build the integration inside the topping and then install the topping on your Bigin account to enable the integration.
Before you start building these integrations, it is important to know the type of authentication and authorization protocols followed by the third-party application. Different applications follow different protocols. Certain applications (like Twilio, Zillow, etc.) use simple token based authentication while some applications (like QuickBooks, HubSpot, etc.) follows OAuth and OAuth 2.0 protocols.
For the applications that support token-based authentication you will have to use Custom Variables, and for applications that support OAuth and OAuth 2.0, you should use Connections.
